Welcome 2016

WOW how time flies.  The last time we posted was almost 2 years ago.

How life catches up to us.  In the past two years, we have seen God the Father do wonderful things in our family, our friends and in our Church.

As we start this new year, a couple months into it, my wife and I hope to share pieces of our journey, what we learned that worked, and even what didn’t.  That’s really how we grow, by each of us sharing our stories.  I am reminded of a scripture [2Ti 2:24-26 KJV] 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all [men], apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And [that] they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Each of us should be prepared in our journeys to share the revelations the Father has given us, in meekness, to help under gird them as they recover themselves.  It’s not that we have done it perfect, but we share what we learn from the Word.  My father said something the other day that has really stuck with me.  See, Jesus had a best friend, John.  Nothing weird, nothing wrong with that.  I have a best friend, it happens to be my wife.   Well, John and Jesus were best friends.  Jesus trusted his mother to John at the crucifixion.  Later Jesus entrusted John with the book of Revelation.  My father said, if we want revelation, then we need to be a friend of God.  How do we do that?  We follow His commandments.  We love ourselves.  We love our neighbors.

How do we help others recover themselves?  How do we recover ourselves?  We have to have a desire to change, a heart to change.  David said in Psalm 51, Create in me a clean heart.  That should be our prayer, but we must be ready and willing to change.
